You know, we should all probably post more to the Watchmen communities around here.
Also have I mentioned that your Bio totally gives me chills? I have a terrible weakness for poetry like that.
It's one of my favourites. I sent the author a Christmas card awhile back when he was hiding out in a church because I'm dorky like that.
I really enjoyed your two stories. I haven't read any other fics in the Watchmen fandom, but I have a feeling that I've probably hit the high point right here. Excellent work! I hope you might write more some time. :)
There are a disproportionate amount of awesome fics in Watchmen fandom. I mostly don't write fanfic but the sheer amount of cool shit spurred me to contribute.
(And there is one more part of this to come, if I ever get it finished.)
And yes, Rex kicks butt in both the art AND fic-writing departments. Added bonus, she is not adverse to drawing adult-themed artwork. :)
This is the current one:

They disappear after awhile, but some nice person is creating zip files of all of the stories and art, and he or she posts it every five threads.
And there's the kink meme, of course:

Thanks for the link to the Watchmen posts...they look like loads of silliness and fun! It's always nice to find some fellow fans to hang out with. I'll be sure to pass those links along to Rex. :)
It's going to be so much fun to see the Watchmen fandom explode when the film comes out in the spring. :)
I just want to ask one question; what's the translation of the Gilles Deleuze's quote in The Dream of the Other? My french is very rusty ^^
"If you are in the dream of the other, you are fucked."
Pretentious Spy is pretentious.
Ordinary World, Exiles and Empire--all brilliant. They pretty much convinced me of this pairing. You write wonderfully and you write these characters wonderfully, not to mention it was incredibly sexy, sweet and heart-wrenching in all the right moments. You have a phenomenal understanding of the characters and the world they live in, which is what sort of cemented the couple in my mind. They all pretty much inspired me to write my own fics for Watchmen, so thank you for that.
I also truly loved Fortunate Son as well. I was captivated by Adrian's character in the graphic novel, and you wrote him brilliantly. Loved it.
Lastly, holy crap, Clockwork Gentlemen is FUCKING AMAZING. If League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Watchmen had a baby, you would be its wet-nurse and its god parent. So incredibly epic, and I love how Rorschach and Daniel are still in character even when they're put in a different universe, and the whole thing was just epic as fuck. I really hope that you write more of this and include other Watchmen characters as well.
So yeah, you're pretty much amazing and my favorite Watchmen fanfic writer thus far. Thank you for being so awesome.
(And yes, I plan to continue Clockwork Gentlemen. Probably not for awhile, though, since weirdly, it took longer to write than the other ones.)
Anyway, here's just those two one-shots. Not slashy since the stories just didn't call for it, but hints are there nonetheless.
And yay more Clockwork Gentlemen. I will patiently await the next installments. :DD
There are differences, but I'm sure borrowed elements from your fics worked their way in there, which I sincerely hope you don't mind since if I want to avoid stepping on anyone's toes, it would be yours, purely out of respect. :]
Haha, no worries. I am not remotely proprietary, given that I'm borrowing Alan Moore's (and a bunch of other people's) stuff. I actually wrote the first scene mostly hoping that people would want to play in this little universe.
And thank you for reading my stuff! :]
If that's not cool, tell me?
I seriously don't know if I can read any again. My expectations are way, WAY too high.
I don't suppose you have any recommendations, do you...?
Either way. WELL DONE.

In general, <lj comm="newfrontiersmen"> seems to be the place to go for good fic and art now that the fandom is all post-movie and flooded with Mary Sues.
(There is some amazing stuff out there.)
They are utterly captivating, drew me right in. This wonderful fragile prose you have written them in only serve to highlight the grace and tragedy of it all. The ending was perfect in tone and execution- right true to the feel of it all, that there will be a long hard road ahead of them.
The scene the Exiles open with? was beautifully raw and completely, them.
